Testimonials on our Instructional DVD's

“Instructional dvds are needed for those teachers who specialize in one dance form but now need to broaden the knowledge of dance to accommodate multi dancers and to keep their studio attractive.

The best benefit will be for teachers. While we may see all these new and old dance forms on tv and being introduced into current syllabi, our understanding is not always up to scratch and that’s where dvd's and workshops help us.

I really enjoy FADCreationS’ intructional DVD’s and it’s great because I can go back, rewind and see how they did something again. On a tv show the dances are so fast paced you are not always sure what every body part is doing on screen so Instructionals really help because they break it down and there is no pressure to get it done right immediately so the rest of the class can move forward as you are alone when you watch it.

The dvd's I have were really great and I love how many options there are in the dance forms. I also liked the fact there are some hard dances and some easy ones in the mix for different students. I can see the more recent ones are getting more professional and they are very well put together. The street jazz is especially informative and the teaching done superbly well. I would recommend them to anyone interested in dance.”
Carrie Tee Nissiotis (Dancer)

“FAD’s DVD’s benefit me because as a teacher (especially if you have a lot of students) you sometimes run out of ideas for moves and new steps. I use FADCreationS’ dvd's and take their moves and make it my own. This helps a lot with my new choreography etc.
I love FAD’s contemporary dvd's. The hip hop as well.”
Wanya van Dyk (Uniproductions/Dance Teacher/Choreographer)

I definitely think there is a market for this. Some teachers will definitely welcome this. We believe that there should be a variety of tools available for teachers. Looking at any other sport, there are so many tools available i.e. Teaching Tools, Equipment etc etc. Unfortunately thus far, not a lot available for dance yet. By providing information, making it "easy to find" albeit through a DVD or written materials i.e. blogs and magazines, will definitely help address this "problem".

I feel that not only students, but teachers should continuously expand their knowledge, as things are moving at such a pace, that you have to stay current. Young choreographers will definitely benefit.

Unfortunately I've not had the chance to personally view any of FAD’s DVD's yet. It has come up in various conversations with various teachers that they are familiar with FAD and the DVDs. To date we've only heard positive things about your DVD's.
Vanessa van Rensburg (Director of Dancedirectory.co.za & Dancekids.co.za)

I definitely think there is a market for the DVD`s – a lot of people wants to get a good workout but do not want to do some boring routine exercises – and this is a fun way to get exercises. It is also good to get some new ideas for dances and steps. It will surely benefit teachers etc – it gives them great ideas for new steps and choreographies – this will also broaden their view on what is happening around the world and on stage as I know FAD gets lots of exposure.

I think FAD's dance instructional DVD`s is fun, teach the correct techniques and expand ones creativeness – when watching a show – one can kind of know which dances was choreograph by the same teachers – as they use the same type of steps – this will give them some new steps to enable them to keep the audience bound as FAD's instructional DVD`s are from different teachers and taught in different styles.

FAD's instructional DVD`s are very user friendly – and the instructions are given in a way that's easy to follow – and it`s fun to do.
Elaine Wehmeyer (Professional Make-up Artist/Dancer)

There is definitely market... it shows different steps / moves which the dancers can use.
Karin du Toit (Parent)

I definitely think the market is out there, as a teacher I feel that my knowledge can only be expanded by utilising these products, especially with regards to the hip hop as their styles change constantly I personally find it very difficult to keep up to date.

If the teachers use the products, they will definitely benefit from it, and ultimately the students will.

There is nothing like face to face instruction to ensure the correct technique is applied, but videos are useful in terms of expanding creativity and knowledge.
Bronwynne Sneddon (Dance Teacher)

Yes there is a market for the dance instructional dvd's. It is an educational tool that could be used in various ways:

- To add and enhance a dance teachers choreography
- a student who wants to learn more than the syllabus work from a dance association
- as a visual tool for a dance teacher as an example of a dance style or step.
All involved in the dance industry could benefit from FADCreationS' dance instructional dvds, especially if it is fresh and new dance steps/choreography.
As a dance instructor I still learn something new every day and believe in evolving as well as gaining knowledge. Instructional dvds break down complicated dance steps and as a result make it easier to teach the dance style.
Michelle Wright (DanceXtreme, Dance Teacher)

What a wonderful idea! I do feel that there is a great need to educate our dance teachers more. Keeping up to date with international markets and the needs of the ever changing "student"
GO FOR IT! I'm in!
Janette Henning (Stepping Out! Dance Academy)

The DVDs provide a good overview of the scope, overall difficulty and showcase of the dance styles. It allows someone to test the waters with an affordable DVD without committing to a lengthy dance contract.

Students Benefits: It allows them to understand the scope of many dance styles quickly. They can see the easy stuff that gets them going, and then see the amazing stuff that inspires them further.

Teacher Benefits: I think teachers' time should be spent getting students to the next level, rather than teaching all the boring routine stuff which should essentially be left to the student to practice in any case. I think the video's provide a foundation or platform that the teachers can then build on.
Jayendren Subramoney (Dancer)

I do think there is a market for the Dvd's as I am sure in studios there is a lack of working with persons in the professional field. The Dvd's give the general student who is unable to be coached by choreographers and professionals working in the industry the opportunity to be exposed to new if not challenging methods of approach to dance.

I found FAD's DVD's incredibly creative, I think that the end product was really well done i.e the editing was great, visuals interesting and on the whole accessible.
Timothy le Roux (Award winning Choreographer, Dancer, Teacher)

The South African Talent Championship supports the idea of instructional DVD's. It promotes the dancing industry and reaches all potential talent and not only that part of our population who can afford lessons. It is a clever way of communicating with schools and to spread new trends in the industry.
Liza-Marie Steinmann (Director of SA Talent Championships)

Any instruction DVD has its place in the market place as it can bring learner and teacher together in remote and far off towns who do not have experts in their specific area.
Nigel Hannah (Ballet Veteran of PACT, Head of Dance Department at Pro Arte Alphen Park High School)

Teachers are always on the lookout for new choreography and idea's, students get exposed to new things, and teachers to new choreography, so there's definitely a market for these DVD products. We like the fact that FADCreationS' DVD's are recorded from the back, and with detailed breakdown.
Ina Jooste (Chairman of Dance Art International)

SABT certainly does believe that there is a market for instructional dance related DVDs. We therefore launched a DVD called The Sandman's Tale of Coppélia in 2009.
Samantha Saevitzon (Publicity & Publications, The South African Ballet Theatre)
